Muscle and Joint Pain Relief, Without Drugs
ActiPatch® is an FDA 510(k)-cleared (K192234), drug-free wearable for adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain at the painful muscle or joint. Individual results vary.
ActiPatch® is an FDA 510(k) cleared (K192234), drug-free wearable that delivers pulsed shortwave therapy at 27.12 MHz for over-the-counter adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain. One device provides 720 therapy hours and costs $39.99 at painkiller.care. It may be positioned over musculoskeletal pain associated with muscle and joint pain; individual results vary and it does not address the underlying condition.
How Muscle and Joint Pain Can Limit Your Day
General muscle aches, soreness, and joint stiffness can interrupt work, rest, and ordinary movement. Seek medical advice if pain persists, worsens, or has an unclear cause.
Targeted Therapy for Muscle and Joint Pain
ActiPatch® provides nonthermal, noncontact pulsed shortwave therapy (PSWT) over the painful muscle or joint. Wear the self-contained device directly on the skin secured with the included tape or wrap, or over thin/light clothing, as directed in the package insert. Thick fabric reduces therapy reaching the area. It is an adjunct to your existing care for pain relief only; it does not address the underlying condition.

What You May Notice
Getting started
Place the treatment loop over the painful muscle or joint as directed in the package insert.
With regular use
Notice whether muscle or joint pain changes with use; some people may not experience relief.
Over time
Review persistent or worsening symptoms with your healthcare professional.
There is no guaranteed relief schedule; response and timing vary between people.
Where to Place It
Place the device directly over the area of discomfort:
Wear ActiPatch® directly on the skin secured with the included tape or wrap, or over thin/light clothing such as a t-shirt or leggings. Thick fabric can reduce therapy reaching the area. Follow the package insert for positioning.
- Over a sore muscle
- Over the joint where pain is felt
- On the area of greatest musculoskeletal discomfort
Position the treatment loop over the site of pain and secure it according to the supplied instructions; keep the device dry.
The Science Behind It
ActiPatch® uses pulsed shortwave therapy (PSWT), a nonthermal, noncontact form of PEMF technology operating at 27.12 MHz. Unlike TENS, it is a self-contained wearable with no electrode pads or lead wires to manage. Designed to operate without perceptible heat or tingling from the device. FDA 510(k) K192234 clears ActiPatch® for over-the-counter adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
What these aches can feel like
Muscle pain may be diffuse after activity or more localized when a particular area moves. Joint pain often feels closer to a moving joint and may be accompanied by stiffness. These are descriptions, not diagnoses. Noting the site, duration, and pattern can help a clinician understand what is happening.
Common musculoskeletal contributors
Repeated use, unfamiliar activity, and strains can contribute to muscle discomfort; painful joints have several possible musculoskeletal causes. More than one area can hurt at once. ActiPatch provides adjunctive pain relief where placed but does not explain why multiple areas hurt or address a systemic condition.
When to see a clinician
Seek care for a hot, markedly swollen joint, severe pain after injury, or pain with fever. New weakness, spreading numbness, or unexplained widespread aches also deserve an assessment. For persistent pain, ask a clinician about the cause instead of assuming that an over-the-counter wearable can replace evaluation.
Where to position the loop
Choose one identifiable painful musculoskeletal area and place the treatment loop there as directed in the supplied instructions. A sore thigh muscle and a painful wrist call for different positioning. Avoid open wounds. If the discomfort is widespread or hard to locate, consult a clinician rather than guessing where to place it.
Wearing it during your day
Check alignment when a frequently used muscle or joint moves under clothing. Use included tape or a wrap to secure on skin, or position over thin clothing such as leggings or a t-shirt. Avoid thick layers between the loop and skin. Take the device off before showering or swimming.
What does the published evidence say?
Rawe and Kotak's 2015 UK registry in Pain Management recorded self-reported pain outcomes across people with chronic pain. Its mixed population makes it relevant background for musculoskeletal aches, but it was observational and did not randomly assign participants to an active or sham device. It cannot prove a benefit for a specific muscle or joint or predict an individual's response. The science page explains the evidence and its limitations; ActiPatch does not treat underlying conditions.

Important Usage Guidelines
Not a Cure: ActiPatch® is intended for adjunctive treatment of musculoskeletal pain, not a cure for muscle and joint pain.
Water Resistance: The device is not waterproof. Remove it before showering, bathing, or swimming.
Contraindications: Do not use if you have a cardiac pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, or other active implanted metallic or electronic device. Follow the supplied instructions for use.
Pregnancy: Do not use if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
Not for children: Not for use by or on children under 17.
Pain of unknown cause: Do not use for sudden or unexplained pain, or if the cause of the pain is unknown. Not for pain deep in the body such as the chest or stomach, and not for cancer-related pain.
Open wounds: The device is not sterile. Do not place it in direct contact with open wounds.
